My understanding is the two will converge with LGI continuing to licence elements of Tivo's software. They do not want to throw the baby out with the dishwater. By then, I doubt that the Horizon brand will be so prominent so it will just seem to all customers like a software upgrade rather than a totally new operating system. Time will tell.

Not heard anything about Horizon launching in uk as of yet but anything can happen.

That refers to the brand name. As the article makes clear further on, the Horizon platform is the future for VM rather than Tivo.

In other news - "Total Channels" has been cut by one sometime since Monday.

Fox News is still testing but the EPG information has been removed.
