Firefox Quantum

After being a diehard Google Chrome user because of its superior speed and syncing, i thought i would give the new Firefox Quantum a go to see how it faired.

I was shocking to see that they have finally caught up to the speed of Chrome and finding it a very nice browser indeed compared to what it used to be. Even on mobile with Firefox Quantum Beta for Android the speed increase is huge it is just as good as Chrome in my opinion.

Has anyone else moved from another browser since the release of Quantum?

Can you switch user profile like you can in Chrome, if not this maybe a deal breaker?

Yes I moved from chrome to firefox.

You can set up different firefox profiles but it involves closing and reopening the browser.

If another profile is setup are we able to have a shortcut for it on the desktop like Google Chrome and have 2 different Firefoxes open at the same time?

Looks like this will do what you want.

Thanks will give it ago if anyone else decides to use Firefox, it is just a pain though, they really need to make it easy like in Chrome.

Firefox was always better if you knew how to customise it. Unless the site was JS heavy, in which case Chrome had the better facility.

I switched to Chrome for a while, when Mozilla didn't really want to bring anything other than a bookmarks sync to the App Store, and when they did actually release "Firefox" for iOS (though like all iOS browsers, it's still Safari in drag... like your Chrome really) promptly switched back.

54 is epic.

I used to use it before Chrome came out and in my opinion Chrome was so much faster and better, however with this version that doesnt look to be the case any longer.

Even Java themselves are depreciating support for the plugin:

Firefox 58 has now been released today and it is meant to be even faster.

I just migrate in the opposite direction, from Firefox to Chrome. My experience with Firefox was not so good, it's a heavy and slow browser.

I'm starting to move from Chrome to Brave. I'm liking that more than I am Chrome lately.

Chrome has been way faster than Firefox for donkeys years, but this version has changed that, they just need to make it easy for people to use multiple profiles at once when there is more than 1 person using the same computer.
