Having trouble with phone

1 Attachment(s)
Not sure if this goes here or elsewhere, if elsewhere could a kind Mod please move?

Basically, when I want to watch a video on YouTube, it says cannot play, please click to retry. And it won't update.

Also, videos on Twitter app won't play, all I get is the attached image when trying to play videos.

Any ideas welcome.

It's a Sony Aqua M4, running Lollipop software. Version 5.0

Sounds like a Flash player issue.

Ah ha:

Not so long ago, in 2012, Adobe cancelled Flash Player support essentially leaving Android users without one of its most popular plugins. However, fans of Flash video and games have found a way to install FlashPlayer on Android devices on their own.

In our manual, we’ll tell you in detail how to install it on Sony Xperia smartphones and tablets, although this method can be used for other mobile brands as well. The algorithm of plugin installation is the same for all Android versions, the only difference is between various versions of the plugin itself. There is a modified Flash Player version for Android 4.4 KitKat.
Try here for pointers.

Should be able to play videos on Youtube from the go though without having to install anything.

Does it not work using the Youtube app?

If you are using the official Youtube and twitter apps then videos should just play without any issues.

Android has not supported flash for a while now. But should not affect the official apps.

I think YT uses html5 now anyway.

Weirdly, after turning my phone off and back on last night, twitter videos play. Not tried YT, but thanks for the replies. Seems weird to stop support for software still widely used.
