sound bar connections

Hello everyone, this my first query so here goes,
I have a new V6 box and hub coupled up to an older Panasonic LCD TV (TX-132C3B) and want to install a soundbar, as there is no HDMI(ARC) on the TV I thought of using the digital audio out port on the tv to connect to the sound bar using an optical cable, however, the sockets look different on the tv to the sound bar, any help here with adaptors or cables or alternatively would it work if I connected the V6 box direct to the soundbar using an optical cable.

Thanks in anticipation

Re: sound bar connections

A soundbar usually connects directly to the TV, there is also a cap on the TV connection which needs to be removed.

On our Sony the headphone output (3.5mm stereo jack) can be configured as an audio line out slaved to the main volume control. It's how we connect the subwoofer. Maybe your set has something similar?

Welcome to the forum.
