Or the VM press release.... https://www.virginmedia.com/corporat...ew-mobile-deal

5G seems to be the main boost.

Well that rules out me ever getting Virgin Mobile as we have unusable signal levels in my village.

I must be behind the times, I thought Virgin used the EE network, not BT ?

I ponder if this is the reason why some VM mobile users are being moved to new tariffs, some of which are quite punitive for low users?

I wouldn't be surprised. They are basically pulling out of the PAYG market, it's not on their website anymore, and are putting customers who have other VM services on one tariff, and those that don't have other VM services on the most astonishingly awful PAYG tariff which deserves to give them a PR nightmare (e.g. BBC Watchdog, Rip-off Britain, etc) which is clearly designed to get rid of them.

I wish there was a way to move early

Currently with EE payg ( same network as VM). Was considering moving to the cheapest VM contract, but checked Vodaphones coverage in a few of my favourite places and its just not as good. Will stay put.

This agreement with Vodafone will bring a host of fantastic benefits and experiences to our customers

Apart from 5G (not that bothered, not planning on changing phone for a while) - what could be the added benefits?

Benefit for VM is that BT is a direct competitor. Vodafone network has improved a lot recently. Three is still the best VFM IMO.
