I would like to know what people make of the last few Bond films - I'm just so excited that Chris Cornell is doing the theme song

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/5220262.stm

:D

I think the last bond film I saw was the living daylights, all bond films look the same to me!

I'd agree with your high points about Brandon Routh and the special effects, but I think the story should have been one of the low points as it was a long-winded pile of old dross, imo.

Oh, and you're spot-on about Kate Bosworth... she does a good job, but it's not quite there in comparison to Kidder (but at least she's better at Lois Lane than Teri Hatcher was ;) )

Saw PotC yesterday. Not as good as I was hoping - maybe because it's mainly more of the same. Still entertaining, just not as fresh as the original.

Got this one out on DVD, bloody good movie - really enjoyed it and its weirdly relevant.

Totally different to what i expected.

What more is there to say - class animation.

saw my super ex girlfriend on saturday night. Very good movie, much better than I was expecting, Eddie Izzard made for a fantastic nemesis though he wasnt quite as evil as I had hoped. Though to be honest the lack of evil just made him even funnier as a super villan.
It wont win any awards for plot line but it was very entertaining and very funny with some well written gags, I would rate it 8/10. I was tempted to give it 10/10 because its been a while since I have walked out of the cinema actually feeling like I have been entertained rather than just occupied but the plot let it down just enough I think to justify 8/10 instead.

Thoroughly enjoyed V, thought it was an excellent modernisation of the comic, and the setup which brought Norsefire to power, is much more plausible than the UK being missed during WW3 because of a 1983 Labour win and the resultant expulsion of the US nuclear deterant.

World Trade Centre - I thought this was a fantastic movie. Really well made as it was written by the actual people it is about. Not a dry eye left in the cinema after either.

Watched Pirates of the Carribbean 2 over the weekend... it's better than the 1st one, a lot less Disney-like than I was expecting, with a plot that seems to change direction a lot (not sure many of the kids in the audience understood the plot but they all seemed to enjoy the film nonetheless). Overall, I'd give it 7/10, which is much higher than I anticipated it'd be.

Basic Instinct 2 (dvd)

Not as good as the first one (obviously) but then the first one was a classic. Oh and Sharon Stone still looks great. :naughty:

Not a bad film though, but does lack the suspense of the original. 6/10 :) (changed my mind on the score, initially, I gave it an extra point for getting Stan Collymore killed off in the first 5 minutes :D )

Final Destination 3 (dvd)

The deaths continue to get just as inventive, as with the previous 2 films. I do think though, maybe it's time the producers called it a day. The initial idea, in the first film, was very clever and very well done. Now though, it's getting a little repetitive, and stale.

However, it is well worth a watch, and I did enjoy it. 7/10 :tu:

Saw part 2 yesterday on C4. Must admit it was more than i expected from it. Heard it was naff really, but i liked it, even though predictable, still gave me a good fright at some points. Mind you i did watch it in the dark with the house creaking weirdly as well

7/10.

Silent Hill, i watched this 2 days ago, man this was a great film with the odd plot twist or three, it was predictable at times, but basically great. Having enver p[layed the game (or even knowing if they are associated) i got into the story straight away, and it scared me poop-less at some points! The little girl played the part really well.
Nice film to see, 8.5/10

saw clerks 2 at the cinema - all of 5 people present!? no wonder it didn't run for a 2nd week. I found it disappointing, and I am a Kevin Smith fan (not as much as my other half!) - although it's supposed to be about dante and randal - I found them boring and their arguements between each other just annoying. It was more fun when randal argues with customers or the other staff (Elias? he so cute and geeky!), or when Jay and Silent Bob appear... best bit has to be Jay doing his 'silence of the lambs' / goodbye horses dance (check youtube!) 7/10 compared to Clerks (original) 9/10

The Grudge 2 - a couple of jumpy bits but thats it, for me it was a waste of the cinema, could have easily fallen asleep - IMO 5/10

Click - 5/10 not really that funny after all the wait and too predicatable. Overtones of meet Joe Black also.

Da Vinci code - 6/10 Seemed forced all the way through and the chioce of the lead lady was horrendous. For a better storey in this vain see National Treasure with Nic cage which is 10/10. Or Sahara which I though was 9/10.

When a stranger calls 7/10

Don't watch it on your own, if you're easily spooked. :erm: :D

Hollow man 2 7/10

Don't remember the first, but this was ok, Christian Slater seems better when he's invisible lol. :D

Beyond Re-Animator (on Zone Horror)... Not seen the first one, but this was very cheesy. But watchable. 6/10

The Departed 9/10

Quality movie and a real break from traditional hollywood type scripts, No shakey god damn hand cam either.

A bit violent and you'll need your thinking cap on but a great piece of work by Scorsese, Jack Nicholson is ****ing superb too.

See it.

Nah just a 2 bed semi but I would be watching it on my own as loved one likes to play his comp games on a night and son and heir does not like that sort of film, so I will be watching it in the bedroom with the lights off :tu:

Severance - the film itself wasn't fab - 6/10.

Danny Dyer though, was effing marvellous, he really stole the show and made the film. I never thought I'd laugh so mumch at a severed leg. 10/10 for his performance. :tu:

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen - 7/10 I really liked it!

I quite liked that one. Some people I know didn't, but they take some films way too seriously :) I like to enjoy a film for what it is.
