VM may sell off their TV channels.

VM Ireland could be looking to sell off their TV division:

If ITV PLC bought the Virgin media channels, it would be a route for them to get into broadcasting to Ireland as VM has the rights to pretty much all of ITV's programming.

Maybe the ROI will simply get the UK ITV feed and just show Irish ads??

How bizarre! The link now goes to a joke page that i'm not sure is meant for public viewing!?

The webpage is a 404 error “page not found”. Web servers have a default error message to show on such occasions but it’s not uncommon for large businesses to design their own. It’s not uncommon for them to try to make them funny in a way that reflects their area of business.

Ahh, thanks Chris, that explains it.

I've tried searching the FT site and the internet in general to find the link again in case I copy/pasted it incorrectly, but can't find anything. Perhaps they've had to take the article down for legal reasons or something??

In Ireland, Liberty have said that they wish to pair up with a mobile operator as they have done in the UK and the Netherlands. Vodafone is cited as the likely candidate with O2 having previously withdrawn from the market.

I can't view it but I believe that is the link you are looking for. Looking at the URL you posted, it looks like you copied it wrong.

That looks like the link!

I can view it but it just says Liberty are looking to seal deals with mobile phone companies in Poland and Ireland similar to those concluded in the Netherlands and UK. It doesn't say anything about disposing of TV channels in that country.

The TV channels rumoured to be up for sale in Ireland are Eir Sports as they've apparently stopped bidding for rights.
