Caroline Lucas is sexist

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-49314840

Quote:

In her Guardian comment piece, Ms Lucas - who used to be the Green Party leader - wrote: "We need an 'emergency cabinet' - not to fight a Brexit war but to work for reconciliation.
"And I believe this should be a cabinet of women.
"Why women? Because I believe women have shown they can bring a different perspective to crises, are able to reach out to those they disagree with and cooperate to find solutions."
So much for equality ... Mzzz Lucas basically thinks women are better. Imagine if someone had written a piece in the Telegraph calling for an all-male emergency cabinet, justifying it entirely on attributes that are supposedly superior in men and more valuable than the attributes women might bring to the table.

Yes, but has to said, women are generally more sensible/sane ;)

She obviously has no understanding as to what equality means as equality means equality and not the complete codswallop she has written in her article.

Just another attempt at a backdoor Remain. Just look how it went with Merkel, May, and Gina Miller involved.

I’m actually not that bothered at the content of her opinion piece this morning, and I’m also pretty sure the Grauniad is on a shameless click quest by publishing it. But I am very interested in what you are and are not allowed to say in this supposed age of equality. I’m also interested in how easily those who preach rules and political morality at us find it so easy to ignore their own sermons when it suits them.

Women can be just as stubborn, forming cliques with fixed agendas. And people advocating that some groups or bodies should be "50% this and 50% that" are just as sexist, ageist, elitist or racist in my eyes.

Sexist and quite obviously deranged and delusional.

I've always thought people of whatever sex colour or creed should be judged on merit none of this PC bull.

Re: Caroline Lucas is sexist

Arguments for quotas are usually based on the claim that institutional sexism, racism or whatever prevents candidates of equal merit being judged fairly and equally. That, pointedly, isn’t Lucas’ argument here; she wants an all-women committee because women are “better” at whatever it is she thinks needs done. Whether or not that’s true, can you imagine a newspaper columnist even attempting to make a similar argument for an all-male collective? Twatter would go into complete meltdown.

Why does our public service broadcaster find the need to parrot the drivel printed in that comic.

That publication has had to repeatedly print apologies and pay compensation as a result of the lies they print.

Because the BBC advertises its job vacancies extensively in the Grauniad, so reading the Grauniad becomes is a necessity if you ever want to work for the BBC. As only true handwringing lefties can stand to buy it for any length of time, only true handwringing lefties see the ads and get employed by the BBC ...

I think you may be confusing the Grauniad with the News Group Newspapers (Sun/News of the World/etc.) and the Trinity Mirror Group (The Mirror). ;)

Not sure there are enough ad hominems and circular arguments in that statement... ;)

Strangely enough, Sky, the Sun newpaper, the Times, and most other media organisations advertise their media jobs in the Guardian as well*, but no one accuses them of being "handwringing lefties"...

*because the Guardian is the only national newspaper with a Media Jobs section

Not at all.:)

They have 6079 entries in their Corrections and Clarifications.

Of course they recently they had to apologise and pay compensation to Isabel Oakeshott.

They are all as bad as each other but you never see the BBC repeatedly parroting comment sections from them.
