Extralube ZX1 Micro Oil Treatment.

Has anyone any feelings about this stuff? My Skoda is almost 25 years old, and has just passed 45k on the clock.

There are loads of internet articles that are either 100% for or 100% against.

Quote:

Extralube ZX1 Micro Oil Treatment is a metal treatment which chemically bonds to the metal surfaces, modifying the friction surfaces of the metal so the oil can do its job better. The result is lowered carbon exhaust emissions, increased mpg, excellent cold start protection and anti-wear performance.

I think I used this type of stuff years ago,

If I recall correctly years ago they put it in a big old diesel generator engine, then let all the oil out then poured water into the oil inlet, it ran like no issue.

I don't see an issue in older engine's.

A top quality semi synthetic oil should contain all the addatives needed. I use Castrol GTX Magnatec that claims the same cling to metal properties.
