Women to be allowed to become para recruits from this month.
 

At the end of this evening's 'The Paras: Men of War' on ITV it said at the end that, for the first time, women will be allowed to become para recruits.

I must admit that I was surprised at this, I had assumed that the whole of the armed forces would have become open to women a long time ago.

About time too as the Royal Navy first started employing women in 1696 but it was unpopular so it was stopped until 1884 when women were employed again by the Royal Navy.
