Amazon Echo Dot Question

Im considering buying this from Amazon as it comes with a "Smart Plug" for the same price as i would be buying just the echo dot on its own.

My questions are these...

What does the smart plug do?

I already have an amazon Echo dot and wish to add a second in a different room, can my existing prime account with amazon music be used on second device to?

Smart plugs aren’t that smart, they just turn on and off on command or to a schedule. You can use them to turn lamps on and off, beyond that I can’t see much use for them. Anything else you might attach to one probably needs further manual user input before it does anything useful, eg a coffee maker.

If you’re using Amazon Music from Prime rather than taking out the unlimited music sub, you can only run it on one device at a time.

The Amazon music service you get free with Prime isn’t unlimited. To get the unlimited service you have to subscribe to it. You should find a link fairly easily if you log in to your account on Amazon. It costs roughly the same as a family account on Spotify or Apple.

There is also single device Unlimited for much less.

Ah sorry yes, I’ve only been comparing family subs as I now have lots of kids all wanting their own account :disturbd:
