Ultimate Oomph renewal
Hello
Signed up to the Oomph bundle last year - amazing how quickly a year goes. Just wondering if anyone had managed to negotiate another year at £99 or less? Called retentions yesterday and was offered £110. Probably will just reduce my package but will be a shame to lose 500mbits service |
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
The £110 still represents a generous discount.

Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
I'm due up paying £95. Although they offered that directly on the call my other sub in another house I'd to go through with cancellation and got an email 15 days in matching my previous offer.

Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Thanks for the replies all, got them down to £105 today so will keep trying but may just go with that as it is taking ages to get through :-)
Good work getting those discounts! Maybe slightly off topic - Currently using the SIM for my iPad but may cancel my EE phone contract to make it better value. Is it possible to port a number now despite it not being a new agreement? Id held off before due to lack of WiFi calling |
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Yes, you can do it through the Mobile Your Account site to submit your PAC.

Devices that WiFi Calling on EE may not do it on VM as the support isn't in the firmware for it. Have a look at www.virginmedia.com/wificalling for the current devices |

iOS devices are usually fine if they're SIM free and purchased in the UK - it's more the Android devices that can have problems if they aren't from Virgin Media.

I forgot to mention that the lovely CS lady confirmed to me that we will get the free upgrade from 500mbps to 600mbps from July.

Had a result, phoned (at 11.20, took 20 minutes overall) on the number BeeVee suggested got through immediatley. Bumped me up to M500 was on M350. 18 months contract, was £106.50 pm (got 3 V6 boxes) actually going down to £105 pm.
Quick speedtest and got 11ms, 552.70 Mbps and 37.20 Mpbs. |
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
As a long term customer i cancelled last August and got them to give me the Oompth for what a new customer would pay and after just cancelling again I've got it again for £89 for 18 months.
|
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
lucky you. I was offered an upgrade to the ultimate oomph for £104 but decided to keep my services the same saving £11 a month. New contract email came through for £106 with the same services.
Gonna have to waste another 6 months of my life to get through to get them to correct their error |

Is it possible to end my contact when it's over and have another house member start fresh thus getting introduction offers?
|
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
When out of contract I find if you call retentions and be polite and ask if there's anything they can do to lower the price usually ends up more favourable that threatening to cancel out right unless they give you a deal. And always ask is that the best you can do as when they give you their first discount. If you aren't happy, call back later on and try again.

I rang up yesterday as my current deal expired over the weekend. I simply said the full price was far too much, so what could they offer. I got full TV, (350M) Internet, Phone and one (5GB) SIM for < £70 month. I'm happy with that. |
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Mine just expired and jumped from £99 to £137, after a couple of text chats got it for £100 which I’m pretty pleased with.

Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
anyone know if i can change the phone number on the Oomph package

Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Phoned up yesterday, Ultimate Oomph renewal for £ 105. No haggling involved.
Asked if this was best they could do, was told yes that is the best offer they have available today. The customer services agent I spoke to could not have been nicer. |
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Mine was going from £99 to £139. Agent offered it for £110 and when I said that was still a lot he agreed to drop it to £100 for 18 months.
|
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Should of just cancelled and told them that new customers get it for £89 and that's what you want it for.
|
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Agent did basically say that you could call on a different day and the offers could be different.Even said that there is a 14 day cooling off period and you could still call during this period and see if better offers are available. But to be honest I thought that a £34 per month discount was not unreasonable.

Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Seems £105 is the standard figure all round with the odd exception. I'm quite happy as i was paying £99 on a deal before. I still think it's good value as the SIM is £30 on it's own.
I did think about moving (as I do everytime) but the the figures don's add up. Sky, broadband and BT sport came to more even with new customer offers |
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
Why arent you guys canceling and signing up again, its only £79 per month via mates rates
|
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
What happens to the VM mobile sim if you cancel ultimate oomph? Does it get cancelled or does it carry on and they just move you to a different mobile Tariff?
|
Re: Ultimate Oomph renewal
My Ultimate Oomph is up 6/11 and will go to £139 so will need to get in touch for a deal. I see it's only £89pm with a free £100 prepaid Mastercard for new users at the moment. Last year it was £79 over Black Friday and wonder if they will do the same this time around.
