Is that enough?

Does the improved encoding remove the need for/slow down the pace of upgrades of the downstream up to 1Ghz from 750/860mhz. I had read LG annual reports that spoke of this across their range of networks in Europe and wondered where it say on Virgin's route map (if at all). This was a few years back though.

Thanks.

If Sky Nature doesn't move onto additional TV Tiers some of us enjoying the HD version of LoveNature currently will be missing out entirely.

I think the quality of the content on Love Nature has been excellent but I was always put off by the large graphics telling you what’s on overlayed during the entire programme.

Looks like there will be no Love Nature UHD apart from the few documentaries on Virgin UHD

Are you sure about that?
There's a trailer for "A Wild Year on Earth" on VM UHD, currently showing on SKY Nature, saying it's going to be on VM UHD from 21st Dec.
Seems it's later UHD programming that is changing with Films being shown, eg The Big Lebowski, Psycho(original 1960 version).

That’s what the pop up says.

Posts on here have said it could be possible Love Nature were ready to launch a UHD version on Virgin but that’s looking unlikely.

As stated in the original launch press release for Sky Nature it would be the only place to see Love Nature content in the UK.

The Virgin UHD channel seems to have kept some of the stuff.

If Sky have acquired the Love Nature content, then it's likely they inherited the contract to supply VM UHD with that content.
If anything, looking at the EPG, there is more of that type of content later on in the evening(after 10pm).
Might be more difficult for VM to find other pre-watershed content in UHD.

HUM EUROPE (Channel 833) has closed on VM. There wasn't much notice by the looks of it. Their Facebook page announced it on 30th November. Also says it's continuing on Sky. (It's apparently Free-To-Air. )

According to JJ20X on Forum Box the mysterious SD Channel A and Channel B have revealed themselves to be

Sky Documentaries SD Ch 278
Sky Nature SD Ch 280

It looks like the plan was to launch them once the Love Nature contract expired. So lower tier TV customers are losing an HD channel and gaining two SD channels.

I think it's fairly likely (logical) these will launch tomorrow when Love Nature closes on VM.

Note: The above tier related comments are my guesses, JJ20X's post doesn't contain this information, as you'll see once you read it.

No. Just the HD versions and only for those on the highest TV tiers.

JJ20X on Forum Box has posted this morning that the pack codes for the lower tiers have now been added to these two SD versions.

As I type neither is showing on my box though.

I do have the rather classy LoveNature closure slate which only mentions the HD channel number for Sky Nature and the on-demand.

I think they will launch on Virgin Media UK next week (December 8th or December 10th).
