Origins of life research
This is pretty cool. Very complex question but we're getting there.

Re: Origins of life research
I believe that the Earth was created by natural scientific processes and that these were created by God (but aren't yet in a position to fully understand what God is).
To me it seems obvious that there must be some sort of higher & more intelligent power than us. Everything around us cannot surely be down to chance. If the slightest thing was changed we would cease to live, but it hasn't thus far... We are just in the right place for the sun, gravity stops us floating away, bees pollinate flowers etc etc. It simply cannot all have 'just happened'. So really, I believe in both! |

In the billion years of existence the universe has had. We only know of a absurdly small subset of this universe - our solar system. We're in the right place for life and it worked out but there could be literally trillions of planets that are the right distance from the sun but one aspect was off and life never happened. Even on our planet the vast majorities of species have disappeared and for every successful evolution there will be millions more failed ones. In a game of chance long odds do eventually happen and when you're dealing with the numbers we're dealing with they will happen. The reason you can consider this is because you are in the chain of unlikely events that paid off rather than the infinite number of ones that did not. |

In the beginning the soup mixture was spot on... that is what I call it. All religion is man made.
