DAZN tried this in the USA to develop their subscription base with Saul Alvarez guaranteed $365m for 10 fights. The deal fell apart after 2 or 3. His last fight was back on DAZN but pay per view - getting 200,000 to 300,000 less buys than his last one on a major network. In the UK that’s small change but US PPVs are regularly $79 or $99. |

It'll be interesting to see if Amazon deem this 'enough' for a separate sports add on or whether the intention is to continue to absorb it into Prime.
Given BT will have multiple games on the same night and at least 1 in the same timeslot it's likely that for the vast majority of the year it will only appeal to fans of the affected clubs. |
Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news
As Amazon will only have about one game per week I would expect that would be a part of Prime.

Slightly embarrassing if the rumours of Sky securing AJ’s next (and possibly last) big fight are true. Deep pockets DAZN not deep enough to endure their own brand ambassador doesn’t fight anywhere else.

I would expect it to rebranded as V Sport if Viaplay buys Premier Sports.

A purchase by Viaplay or DAZN makes sense. The market is simply too crowded. I suspect BeIN might merge with another broadcaster or be sold after the World Cup. |
