‘The Mysteries of Laura’ Canceled By NBC After Two Seasons

Quote:

The Mysteries of Laura was one of few brights sports for NBC when it launched in fall 2014. While it has been older-skewing, the series has been a reliable 8 PM anchor to the network’s Wednesday lineup.
A consistent utility player, Mysteries of Laura started and ended its 16-episode second season with a 1.2 Live+same day adults 18-49 rating, a season high. It also boasts a recognizable TV star as the lead, Messing, as the lead.

It really fries my brain when I start thinking about it. Project Almanac was a good film to get your brain ticking last year and Star Trek Voyager was always good for it as well when you listened to the crew talking it through and trying to make sense of it as well.

As an fyi Containment starts this week and looks like it is going to be really good

The slow and steady not always wins the race. The CW has opted not to renew Julie Plec’s new drama Containment for a second season. Four episodes into its freshman run, Containment has been consistent, averaging a 0.5 rating in 18-49 (Live+same day) each time

It was advertised as a limited series anyways. It'll probably have some sort of cliff hanger though...

No season 2 for Damien, it got cancelled.

Not really much of a surprise, it just wasnt really very good.

.... "Damien" should've stuck to being King Arthur. Merrrrrlin.....

Not seen the series yet, but will check it out at some point.

Person of Interest wrapped up on Thursday night with a truly outstanding season finale. Michael Emerson once again coming up trumps (Also from JJ Abrams, Lost)

Left the door open slightly as you'd expect with a show with ratings like that given they were cancelled rather than wanting to wrap it up. It was pitched and has consistent viewers. Just that CBS were making pennies from it given the ownership of the show by Warner bros.

Once again though, another example of everything Abrams touching just turns to gold. (Lost, Fringe, POI)

Nah it ended this week. It was the right time to end it I think, don't think they could of kept it going much longer.

Oh right will have to look it up on demand. Thanks for the info
What channel was it on? I've looked at 5 on demand for thursday and there's nothing there. Also looked at last weeks tv guide (Total Tv Guide) and found nothing listed at all for Person Of Interest?

It was in the US it ended this week so probs be another year before it's aired over here.

Re: Renewals & Cancellations

Sorry shouldve specified. Netflix UK will likely pick it up before 5.

I don't disagree either. Samaritan was the endgame and the thought of dragging it over another 22 episodes procedurally would have been dull.

It had a good exit and I'm satisfied with it. Like I said, Lost, Fringe and POI. All three were hits and great and all ended great. Rather than being dissapointed I'm more intrigued to see what Abrams and co pitch next. They did leave it open though but for those that watched the finale, I wouldn't want it back after that ending. Leave it be.
