A fully-booked passenger plane came within yards of plunging into the Black Sea when it skidded off an icy runway while trying to land.

The jet's 162 passengers had a lucky escape when the wheels of their Pegasus Airlines flight dug into the freezing mud at Trabzon Airport - leaving it dangling precariously off a coastal cliff.

Turkish officials said the cause of the accident was not yet known, and closed the airport overnight to conduct an investigation.

Dramatic photos appear to show smoke billowing from the cabin - but Trabzon Governer Yucel Yavuz said all 162 passengers and crew on board were evacuated safely.

Quote from The Katmandu post:

Mar 12, 2018-A US-Bangla airlines aircraft carrying 71 people including four crew members crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Monday afternoon. The TIA authority has suspected casualty but the details are sketchy.

Tourism Ministry Joint Secretary Suresh Acharya said 25 injured passengers have been rescued and sent to different hospitals for treatment. TIA said there were 37 males, 27 females and two child onboard the aircraft.

Director General of Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (Caan) Sanjiv Gautam said that the plane was out of control when it attempted to land on the runway. “The aircraft was permitted to land from the Southern side of the runway over Koteshwor but it landed from the Northern side,” said Gautam suspecting the aircraft might have sustained some technical glitches. “We are yet to ascertain the reason behind the unusual landing,” he added.

MoD appear to be testing that new Taranis drone again in Cardigan Bay just off Aberporth. (They have activated the danger area NOTAM).

Keep an eye out in the local papers for UFO sightings ;)

Also spotted today is one of the the Saudi Tornado IDS which are operating out of Warton. Turned South down Liverpool Bay, over Snowdonia and had a quick blast through the Mach Loop. They're working on integrating that Damocles targeting pod they've purchased from the French.

Some of you probably know this already but the Farnborough International Airshow Public days are no more.
It's not surprising really seeing how terrible 2018's display was.

With the Shoreham crash a few years back and the additional new housing built nearby they've played it safe and now pulling the plug.

It will continue as a trade only show with apparently one public day on the friday but it won't be the same.

I'm hoping Paris keeps going and that they atleast have a better flying display for the public.
