My graph has lots of very regularly spaced yellow spikes on it! What is wrong with my connection?

Some broadband routers exhibit patterns of behaviour. This is often because ICMP is handled at a lower priority than other traffic, so if a router does some form of housekeeping at regular intervals you can see patterns not unlike the graph below:

Really? my "average" latency is off the chart! I usually get a low green latency (as expected, then slightly higher blue showing that average isn't much higher than minimum.....but not here!

Sorry, that was meant to be sarcasm. It's ****ed. Modem stats?

Kushan...apologies....my sarcasm detector is offline currently...much like my feckin internet service :)

What modem stats.....been ages since I had to fiddle with anything. Superhub used as Modem only. Point me in the right direction mate.

Go to http://192.168.100.1 and there should be an option for Modem stats somewhere (Not got a SH1 myself, but on the SH2 it's the top right).

We need to see the downstream and upstream statistics.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

I can't see any stats as SuperHub doesn't act as a router for me, just a modem. so that's out...any other ideas pal?

It's the router status link at the top right hand corner of the sign-in screen.

As suggested providing you're not accessing remotely then you'll find a Router Status on top RH corner BEFORE you attempt to Signin - what happens if you you try: http://192.168.100.1/RouterStatus.html ?

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

ahh gotcha...do you know I've managed never to look at that. Right, any specific stats to check for?

---------- Post added at 15:36 ---------- Previous post was at 14:57 ----------

Did another reboot recently and I've left it for a bit and checked my graph, and the blue is TINY....perhaps a corruption in a routing table or something....christ knows. What should I be looking at in the stats though?
