ttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46002170

Ex-England and Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle is seriously ill in hospital after appearing as a pundit for BT Sport on Saturday, his 61st birthday.

-----

Both Glen and Carl Hoddle went to my school in Harlow, (Burnt Mill Comp)

My aunt and uncle used to go camping with their parents.

Carl would be seen ofter going into my nextdoor neighbours house.

Carl died 10 years ago from an Aneurysm.

Let's hope and pray that he gets well soon.

Not seen him for years, he looks different to how I remember him.

Indeed. It was lucky that someone (a former policeman) with medical training happened to be there too.

BT Sport replaced the programme that he was due to appear in 'BT Sport Score' with a basic results feed and World Rally Championship footage.

I'm not sure if this was cancelled out of respect for Mr Hoddle, or if there was no one available to replace him at such short notice. If the former, It's nice to see people being put before corporate needs for a change. If the latter, i'm surprised that the programme didn't go ahead as the TV industry seems to have carried forward 'the show must go on' mantra from the days of the theatre.

"All the indications are that he is responding well to the treatment and could make a full recovery in the course of time," the friend, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said. "He had a good night's sleep and was talking on Sunday. He's had major heart surgery. He's going to take some time to recover but there are no signs of brain damage and there are signs he is going to make a full recovery."
