How to setup an AOL Email Account in Thunderbird
 

I have an AOL email account that i can log into by visiting AOL.co.uk but i wish to set it up in Thunderbird with my other email accounts to keep them all in one place.

The problem i have is that when i attempt to do so i get a message that either my username or password is incorrect which i know is not the case as i use them to log into AOL.co.uk. I have double checked the IMAP settings on thunderbird and they seem to be correct.

I logged into AOL and had a look around thinking that u need to enable IMAP like u do for gmail but i cannot find any way of doing so for AOL.

Im wondering if anyone can help me

i think i set mine up using the wizard in thunderbird
imap.aol.com port 993
ssl/tls normal password
the username isn't the full email it's just the bit before the @

it's an old netscape account from before it was bought by AOL, I just about never use, so my guess is they used to be the default settings, or I changed them long ago

Or if you use GMail you can get Google to pull emails from other accounts and then you can access emails from one mail box.
