Re: Boxing 2013

Froch is close to signing a deal to fight Mikkel Kessler again.

Potential to be a good bout but I'm not a huge fan of Froch, simply back him because he's one of ours. His style isn't the best and some may argue it get's the job done but Andre Ward showed just how average Froch is. Ward is something else but Froch made no attempt to change it up and accepted a 12 round spanking.

Knocking out Bute is no shock either, Froch as the underdog against a world champion with no reputable opponents to his name? Easy money at the bookies for some.

Khan in talks with Senchenko, pretty simple bout for Khan to be fair.

Easy fight for Khan.

Not impressed with Shane Mosley coming out of retirement to face Paulie Malignaggi. I wonder if the winner of Khan Vs. Senchenko, if it happens, faces the winner of Malignaggi and Mosley?

Khan could beat either having already outclassed and stopped Paulie, I'm not excited by the prospect of it or Khan vs Senchenko. The fight's are too easy for Khan and they would do little to test him, I don't doubt Virgil's training and ability to make Khan stick to a gameplan but he really needs to be looking at Peterson and Garcia to be getting people behind him again.

I want to see Garcia exposed for being the very bland fighter he is, a guy that closes his eyes and throws a counter punch and gets incredibly lucky! Khan under Virgil is going to make this lad look like an Amateur, not that he already didn't in the first few rounds of the first fight.

Bute is a no go for me, Bute has nothing to offer.

Froch know's he'd be walking into another easy demo job.

Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler ready for battle

http://www.rte.ie/sport/boxing/2013/...dy-for-battle/

Quote:

Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler labelled themselves as gladiators yesterday as they launched the second of what could be a trilogy of fights.

The super-middleweight duo were at London's O2 Arena to promote the 25 May meeting between them which will serve as a rematch to their bloody tear up in Denmark three years ago.

Froch was beaten on that night, with his nose broken and his unbeaten record whipped away from him in a bout that is still referred to owing to its brutality.

Both men have won and lost world titles since and will put the belts they currently have, the IBF (Froch) and WBA (Kessler) on the line in front of 17,000 fight fans who snapped up every available ticket within two hours of them going on sale yesterday.
