Re: Line Rental

FYI, I rang up VM (Retentions) yesterday to recontract and they added Line Rental Saver back for me even though mine expired last Dec.

Maybe only certain (Retentions) people know how to do this?

Apart from the TiVO charge, Player TV itself is not chargeable if you have a Landline on your account, so there is not much there for them to discount.

The TiVo charge is £8, so it actually costs VM £3 to provide the Player Pack, but they make their money on the BB and phone. They will also make a bit on PPV, premium channels etc.

That is good news, previously even those where it hadn't expired were being turned away!

I think that it will be cut further in the future and then abolished altogether. I'm not sure why as I would have thought that the upfront payment would be useful, it's a retention tool and makes peoples bills appear smaller.

I hope they do not stop it as you say it makes your bills easier each month.
