You must remember, most of the rest of the world don’t have the same fascination with guns that the USA seems to have.

To most of us, they’re just a tool, not a symbol.

The USA’s problem isn’t simple availability, it’s the fetishisation of guns as symbols of freedom. The idol-like status of firearms in American culture, coupled with their ready availability, is a lethal mix.

Other countries have comparable levels of firearms ownership without the same level of firearms murder. Switzerland, for example - almost every household has a rifle. It’s not such a problem for them because they all go through national service so they have a somewhat healthier image of what a gun is for.

Ya mate its really very sad americans think they cant defend themselves w/o a gun.....
