Youtube streaming issues.
Can anyone tell me if they are having issues playing fullHD content on youtube?
I cannot play anything above 720p without it skipping and freezing etc. Ive tried wired and wireless, also tried activating QOS and disabling it again, anything else i can try? |

Re: Youtube streaming issues.
Youtube has been acting oddly for weeks, sometimes I get an all white page with the video window open and playing. Filling-in the rest of the page content can take a couple of minutes.

Re: Youtube streaming issues.
May be a coincidence but three weeks ago I moved from Sky (Max Fibre) and immediately noticed an increase in buffering on youtube. Not disastrous but definitely occurs more often and worse on HD content

Re: Youtube streaming issues.
VM use transparent proxies that break stuff sometimes. I have had no issues since changing DNS servers and using my own router tho, with the VM hub in modem mode.

Re: Youtube streaming issues.
yah, the last time I saw a big uproar about this (think it was 2016) it turned out it was a DNS issue because VM's dns directs you to VM's youtube cache which was experiencing issues at the time and if you were using google dns/anything else you got sent elsewhere. I have been using youtube loads over the last week and haven't had any probs.

That said, if you're using a SuperCrud, it'll be a case of doing it per-pc as they don't allow changes (funnily enough...) :) Tom |

Re: Youtube streaming issues.
I'm having issues too, and I am using Google DNS. It seems to freeze alot while about 2 minutes into HD content.
I have tried Youtube on my backup connection and all is fine on that one (BT ADSL). |
Re: Youtube streaming issues.
youtube is unusable for me tonight but I don't think it is youtube that is the issue. Just trying to load speedtest.net took about 10 seconds and each of the pages on this forum takes a few seconds to load as well. Something dodgy is a foot but surprisingly my speed test result does not reflect it:

I think this is the worst I have ever seen it and would explain why a game I was playing an hour ago was spazzing like mad |
