Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

I just got an email from Virgin saying this...Your UHD channel guide is here!

I've looked through the mail and I cannot find anywhere within the mail any sports channels that are in UHD, even though they promote the EPL etc.
Has anyone else had this email?

I’ve had the email, and, as you say, nothing in it about UHD sport.

Scanning through the VM TV Control App, it shows on 531 (Ultimate BT Sport, which is the BT UHD channel)

Sat 6th Aug
11:30 Live Premier League, Fulham v Liverpool
17:00 Live National League, Scunthorpe v Yeovil

We’d 10th Aug
UEFA Super Cup, Real Madrid v Eintracht Frankfurt

Sat 13th Aug
11:00 EPL Villa v Everton
17:00 National League Oldham v Dorking

Mon 15th
19:45 Serie A Juventas v Sassuolo

The UHD channel is definitely coming to BT's pubs and clubs customers this year so this may have been what was being tested on Sky.

Not sure if we'll see a 6.8% rise to consumer pricing in due course too.

A sensible move to raise the league's profile.

Good to see the paupers in linear television bag more rights as the deep pocket streamers retreat under an avalanche of debt.

Deep pockets DAZN have TWO bang average pay per view events in a little over a month coming up.

I suspect the reason for that is because Freesports is no longer on Freeview and it was removed from Freesat 2 years ago.

Viaplay will probably rebrand it and turn it into something entirely different.

i think they had a bigger profile then they were on sky sports and were the second biggest league after the premier league in terms of ratings...

Now they're well behind due to greed

Agreed.
Think they will rise in prominence again with the ITV deal and the takeover of Premier Sports by Viaplay but they can never match the excitement of the Premier League due to their domination by Barcelona.

Watching Leeds v Chelsea, what a howler from the Chelsea keeper!

Re: ESPN, BT, Euro, Premier and Sky Sports news

They are actually showing 10 games over three nights.

31st also sees AFC Bournemouth v Wolverhamption Wanderers on BTS5 - so five that night. Should be on Red Button on VM and Sky.

1st Sept has Leicester City v Manchester United on BTS1 and Ultimate.

As they are covering French and German football at the same time - all ten BTS channels will have live football at the same time on 31st Aug.

I find this sort of thing annoying because you can't watch all of the games plus I work nights so miss Wednesday and Thursday games!
