Did you guys have to manually reboot and what firmware revision are you on?
---------- Post added at 10:26 ---------- Previous post was at 10:22 ---------- According to the VM page it should be 20mbit!!!! They sure kept this quiet, not rebooted yet but i did a few days ago and it didn't change. https://www.virginmedia.com/shop/broadband/speeds https://www.cableforum.uk/board/atta...1&d=1561800518 |

Very nice, i wonder if they'll bring the 100meg config in line as well with a 10meg upload
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
I also wonder if they will drop the M50 package and have the minimum as M100 as 5 different packages is to many.
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
Still on 12Mbit here, even after a reboot.

I'm on Super Fiber 50 . . . whatever that is, although I have a faint recollection they upped it to 100Mg?
I get around 87 down and 6.5 up anyway  |

Re: 200mb upload speed
To be honest I'm ok with how it's working, fast enough for me and what I now use it for (too old to be competitive at online gaming lol), experimenting with various unix stuff on old laptops mainly :D
daughter complains wifi drops occasionally, think that's more router than virgin though ;) |
Re: 200mb upload speed
Quote:
https://www.cableforum.uk/images/local/2019/06/4.png I'm guessing it's still being rolled out. My node didn't even get 350Mbit until a few months ago, so it seems like it's the bottom of the list for upgrades regardless. |
Re: 200mb upload speed
20mb upload here after a reboot. The top tier is looking increasingly pointless (for me anyway).
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
Yes i am happy with the speed i pay for, i can't see the point of going higher, but any free upgrade i will take just like i have for several years now.

Re: 200mb upload speed
I rebooted the VM HUB 3 yesterday evening and upload is now 20Mb. Im in the NW9 area. My area hasn't been upgraded to 350Mb or 500Mb though. 200Mb is the max speed available. But i'm very happy the upload speed has been increased.
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
It is expected over the next few months 50Mbps will be bumped to 5Mbps upload and 100Mbps to 10Mbps upload.
---------- Post added at 12:04 ---------- Previous post was at 12:03 ---------- And just to keep Mr K happy, VM have just announced their annual prices rises so he can blame the upload increase for the rise even though prices would still increase regardless of any boost. ;) |

Re: 200mb upload speed
Hi Snoopz, sorry for not getting back to you. The graph did go back to normal. The IP address was correct and still is.
For some reason the thinkbroadband monitor cant ping my connection now. I logged into the HUB3 to see if any of the settings had been changed but for the life of me couldn't find the option to respond to external pings. I'll have to have a look again this evening. I have the white HUB3 that virgin were sending out as part of their trials program many years ago. I'm not sure if the device has started to develop issues. |
Re: 200mb upload speed
Quote:
I don't think there is an option for external pings on the Hub3 and i also have the white trials hub. |
Re: 200mb upload speed

I haven't changed any settings on the HUB3 in 2 years so im confused as to why it would just stop working. I'll reboot the hub3 tonight to see if makes a difference. |
Re: 200mb upload speed
Looking at your graph in this thread it did work for 8hrs, my graph went all red for 24hrs the other week, so maybe just a glitch their end.

Re: 200mb upload speed
Even if no ip change I would start a new graph, this may fix it.
|

The IP address is the same. But I’ll start a new graph
|
Re: 200mb upload speed

Re: 200mb upload speed
The hub3 doesn't have that option.
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
I created a new thinkbroadband graph, but couldn't because the same IP address was already being monitored. So i deleted the old one and created a new one. It seemed to have worked for a while but upon checking now it seems to have stopped working around 01:30...this is very strange.

I only use the Hub3 as a router really. Wifi Radios, 2.4 and 5Ghz have been disable from the settings page. The only thing i can put it down to is, under firewall settings on the Hub3 i've had ip flood detection enabled, which i enabled ages ago. But i'll switch it off to see if that makes a difference |
Re: 200mb upload speed
Think i have always had to disable IP flood protection but not 100% sure, also try disabling the Firewall for 5mins if that doesn't work.
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
i've just come home and seems like my broadband monitor is working again...i havent touched a thing. This truly is weird.
|
Re: 200mb upload speed
There was a bug that caused that to happen on the trial firmwares late last year I believe so I'm guessing the bug wasn't fixed when rolled out.

Mine seems to have come back online just before 3pm today. I started having this issue when i rebooted my HUB3 for the 20Mb uplift. I have a broadband monitor setup on my internet connection at another property i have and that seems to be working perfectly fine. https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broad...07-07-2019.png |

Re: 200mb upload speed
As far as I know, you still have to disable the hub firewall, otherwise the TBB Quality Monitor shows random blocks of red. This issue has not been
resolved in the firmware I have. Hope this helps. |

VM are so ridiculously slow fixing firmware issues they still haven't fixed the upstream decimal point being in the wrong place! |
Re: 200mb upload speed
.610 here too, and it has always needed the firewall to be turned off for TBBQM, as did the previous firmware version.

I had the same issue on my Hub3 until I one day happened across the non-VM branded GUI - Which sported a few more options...
I remember quite clearly that changing the previously hidden value fixed it (so that must be 'Port Detection')? Can't check now, as I'm in modem mode... Attachment 27966 >So yeah, another firmware inflicted oddity! :) Tom |

AFAIK the IPv6 stuff is working in the Hub 3 in Ireland, so I guess the firmware code is shared over all Liberty Global Hubs to an extent ?

Looks like my upload has gone to 20Mbit as well, as of about Wednesday this week. Took long enough, but I'm glad of it.
