Tivo V6 free upgrade. Quick Start. S'hub 3 failed
 
The Superhub 3, when switched on, never reached the solid white light state after multi-coloured lights. So I reinstalled the Superhub 2. The Powerline was set up, the Tivo V6 installed and all tested and worked well.

I could not reach VM help after several lengthy tries so am left curious. Is there any downside to not upgrading the hub?

I have seen comments that Superhub 3 is not performing well and is still awaiting updates, so plan to watch out for further news. Could I try and start it up again to replace the Superhub 2 without uninstalling anything else?

Any advice given would be appreciated.

The SH2 should stop working when the SH3 is activated. Which makes me think the SH3 activation failed. Possibly it wasn't added to your account when it was ordered. Try calling tomorrow and they can manually activate it.

In the short term, there's probably no downside to sticking with the SH2, but at some point it will need to be replaced.

I received the correct power supply for my new hub3 but decided not to install it over the weekend as the Activation phone line was not answering at all.

Did you call the Activation line?

If its not broken, don't fix it. Keep the SH2 and don't bother with the SH3. Why complicate life ;)

Thank you for your advice folks. It's good to have confirmation of my findings.

Taf - Yes, I had activated by phone before I started the process. When the hub 3 failed to start up, I lost patience with hanging on much of the afternoon and relied on what I had read in the VM Forum.
