Over at Sainsbury’s, Cadbury Creme Eggs are already on sale — stunning festive shoppers and dismaying church leaders.

The sleeves will be for sale next year, when the powers that be decide that wearing just sleeves is fashionable.

Sorry, but they're not - Cadbury will only supply them to retailers between 1st January and Easter Day each year. After Easter, as soon as they've sold out, that's your lot and there are no more until next year. If you see them on a newsagent's shelf in October or November, check the sell by date, they might be a bit sticky. ;)

I love how every year people are surprised that Easter products are on sale come the new year. This has happened every year. Mid-September you have Halloween stuff, November 1st you have Christmas stuff, January 1st you have Easter Stuff and then after Easter comes the summer stuff. Every single year. They wouldn't put them on sale if people didn't buy them.

Fitted and working, after much grunting, sweating and straining. Really quite proud of myself, it's not a job I've done before. :D

I've done ours to a disused chimney flue 'cos it's convenient. Grease filters installed.

Yes, horizontally (with recommended downward slope to prevent condensation running back), from the internal wall where the cooker is sited to the external wall where there was already an extractor fan. I removed the fan and was delighted to find the installer helpfully whacked a five-inch hole through to the outside, larger than he needed for his fan installation but exactly the right size for me. The complete run is about 40cm vertical, then 1,500cm horizontal including a couple of 45 degree turns to overcome the fact the existing hole in the wall wasn't exactly where I needed it to be.

And the whole job was done with rigid polypipe, hence the sweating and straining to get it all in place in one go.

When I came home this evening, the back garden smelled of chicken casserole and indoors the kitchen barely smelled of anything. :D

Well it all adds up when you have a few sets to change at once for any reason. Normal electric guitar strings are around a fiver a set, Ricky 12 string sets are 15 quid and bass strings can range from 10-50 quid. DR Lo Riders are £30 for a 4 string set, having said that, the ones I replaced had been on for 2 years (although some bass players never change their strings unless one breaks).

SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 8GB MP3 Player

The sansa clip replaces my faithful creative zen micro that has provided sterling service for the last 5 years or so. The sansa clip is extremely small and light, provides as good if not better audio, is easier to use with audio books as thanks to a resume feature they no longer require splitting. There is no additional software to install, Media is loaded by dragging and dropping onto the device. It was quite cheap compared to creatives current offerings. Once again I am pleased with my purchase. :)

TP-Link TL-SG1005D 5-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Desktop Switch

Western Digital Caviar 3TB SATA 6 GB/s 64MB Cache 3.5 inch OEM Internal Hard Drive Green

Mede8er MED1000x3d network Multimediaplayer w/o harddisk

2 x 1M Cat6 Shielded Network Cable, 1 Meter, FTP, Black Ethernet Patch Lead

I have no interest in 3D and originally ordered Mede8er MED500X2. But the supplier had no stock and offered the dearer model for the same price.

Anyway, a bit fiddly to install and configure network wise (as always). Had to invoke SAMBA process on the player before, apart from my NAS, it could see and be seen on my network. All sorted now and working perfectly. :)

Looks very nice, and Chillblast seems to have good reviews from what I seen ( I take it that's where you've got it from). I wonder what the price would be to build it yourself compared to their price. After the hassle from MESH my comp is getting onto around 4-5 years now so I need to start thinking of a replacement and start saving up. Let us know your experience and how the machine is if poss. :)

Mainly because most of the review sites indicated that the i5 3570k was the best processor for gaming - the i7 gave no discernible (gaming) benefit for the extra £100 cost; I preferred to spend the money on the Graphics card.

The mobo will allow me to upgrade if things change in the future....

(Yes, it is from Chillblast - re the 'build vs buy' option, the CBA factor won....;))

Just bought a Atacama Europa hi-fi stand in black & silver - looks good and improves the sound no end :)

A new saute pan and a baking pan from Procook. If you need new cooking stuff they are the canine's undercarriage :D

Nice choice jem. I have the full set of Procook pans and they are still like new even though I have had them for many years and use them daily. The only one I had to renew was the saute pan which goes to prove that dropping it on a stone floor will dent even the sturdiest of pans. :(
