No local corner shop near you? :)

Re: The what are you drinking now thread

Yeah - shut at 22:00 though, and it means venturing into the dodgy (well, more dodgy) part of the area. It says "semi-skimmed" on the pint plastic cartons, and it has a green top, but the stuff inside is not semi-skimmed. Not exactly full fat neither. Sort of leaves slime on the insides of the cup, and skims over when left to stand for any time.

Probably Yak milk :erm: :D

Ah. Well I am, but if I wanted a cuppa, say, at 21:00 or even 09:00, it would mean a journey into the badlands for a pint of Yak. Or the probably two to three mile journey to Sainsbury's. We did have a local Kwik Save but it shutdown :(

Did you really want a cuppa at 21:00 though? ;)

If your corner shop isn't open at 09:00, it is a crap shop... ;)

I did, yeah. Want one now too. Thirsty :( The shop is open at 09:00 - but it's Yak in the badlands. Have I confused you, Mal :D

Alien 23-09-2007 13:52

Re: The what are you drinking now thread

GC: do what I do, next time you go to the supermarket to get non-Yak, get some of the powdered variety as well. Keeps for ages, & you can either just add the recommended amount to a cuppa, or make up a pint if you want for cereal or whatever. Not the same as the regular stuff, but tolerable. Very useful when you don't feel like going out just for the sake of moo-juice.

BTW, to anyone else who likes Coffee Mate in coffee instead of milk, I wouldn't advise trying it in tea. Whilst nice in coffee, it's horrible in tea.

Hmmm. Tends to float on the surface - reminds me of the River Aire :erm: Cereal - never seem to have time for it. I make it, forget about it, and discover a soggy mush that ends up in the bin. And most of it looks like the stuff you give a cat. Bloke at work was eating something off a Whiskers advert, with milk. I offered to let him know if I saw him licking his ******** :p: Moo-juice - I thought I was the only person who called it that. People mis-hear and think I'm saying, "Moon juice" :erm:

The 1 I've got is the Co-op's own brand. I didn't have any probs with anything floating on the surface, but then when using the powdered variety I do things in a slightly different order to the way I do it when using the fresh stuff.

Fresh: put teabag in mug, put a little bit of milk in, add hot water, let it sit for a few mins, remove teabag, add sugar & stir.

Powdered: put teabag in mug, add a little cold water [about the same amount as I would use of fresh milk], add the hot water, let it sit for a few mins, remove teabag, add powdered milk & sugar & stir till nothing left on the surface.

I wouldn't give Sugar Puffs to a cat. :) I only put the milk on them just before I'm going to eat them, so they don't really have a chance to get soggy.
