Don't you mean it's the last episode before the summer hiatus? not the last in the series.

There's more to come? :hyper: Can't get my head around these scheduling issues, surely a series should continue from one week to the next, then a break before the next series :confused:

Well you'd better hope the new film (should it eventually materialise) is received well. The last I heard paramount/viacom are treating it as a pilot for a new star trek show.

Personally I don't think that star trek has a future as a tv series. Maybe as TV movies like Alien Nation did.

I own every Star Trek Series on DVD (except the Animated series & Enterprise series 4 due on 31-10), because each box set has features that wont be seen on TV

Each box set cost approx £65.00
ENT = 21 DVDs, 3 Box sets = £195
TOS = 21 DVDs, 3 Box sets = £195
TNG = 49 DVDs, 7 Box sets = £455
DS9 = 49 DVDs, 7 Box sets = £455
VOY = 49 DVDs, 7 Box sets = £455

Total price...............................Ãâà ¢â€šÂ¬Ã…¡Ãƒâ€šÃ‚£1,755:Yikes:

For those of you who have been collecting the B5 dvd box sets - or are waiting for the prices to drop (As I have been :))

Play.com are doing series 1 to 5 at £24.99 this month. I've finally ordered my series 5 set.

You can also get the movies for £22.99 - Which excludes the Pilot, In the Beginning and Legend of the Rangers (which you can get seperately)

Also Crusade for £24.99

I've never seen a single episode of season 5 - so I'm looking forward to finishing it off properly. The only thing I've got to decide is weather or not to watch it all through from start to finish :)

£24.99 per box?

Hmm... :)

Season 5 - not very good, IMO. Well, when compared to the previous ones.

There were strong doubts B5 would get a 5th season, so JMS ended up cramming most of the rest of the story arcs into season 4 (hence why season 4's Shadow arc & Earth arc etc. seem quite rushed). But then it did end up getting picked up for a 5th & final season & he didn't really seem to have much left to put in it.

After the whole thing with the Zindi was over, they seemed to get boring and uneventful

This was hinted at by Russell T Davies earlier in the year. The show is to be called Torchwood which is an anagram of Doctor Who. It was also mentioned in the Bad Wolf episode and hinted that it would have something to do with the new series.

It sounds great as it should be a lot more adult than Doctor who has ever been. As long as its not as bad as the last Who spin off!!

Paul which channel would that be??

I have just got the first 6 eps of a new US series called invasion, its pretty cool. Its all about a hurricane that hits the south of Florida but there are other sinister things going on people see lights in the sky falling into the water and after the hurricane it appears that some people who would have otherwise died have come back slightly changed.

Its all very invasion of the body snatchers but I really like it.:)

Odyssey 5, starting on Sc-Fi, 2100, Wednesday 2nd Nov looks like it may be good - I think it has been on before, but I didn't catch it the first time :)

I haven't looked to see when it starts yet to be honest. But I am looking forward to it.

As for odyssey 5 - I did like that a lot. But it was axed before it's time :(

Yes, that was added today. :) The sky magazine says the 9th, which is where I got the date from - so maybe they have put it back a week since the magazine was printed.

ah right - sorry, didn't mean to make it look like 'my digiguide is better than yours', seeing as it is you, that would be a little silly :D

Had a bit of a "Stargate: Atlantis" marathon this week...

Watched the whole of season 1, plus season 2 eps 1-10....

Quite like it so far :D

Just wish I'd kept up with SG1...not seen that since season 5...

Its all about a hurricane that hits the south of Florida but there are other sinister things going on people see lights in the sky falling into the water and after the hurricane it appears that some people who would have otherwise died have come back slightly changed.

Its all very invasion of the body snatchers but I really like it.:)

I just watched the first three episodes of this, it's a bit slow getting gowing, but theres enough there to keep me interested in watching a few more. :)

Ah, but since we know that the T-1000 can change shape, maybe there's one that was watching over him all the time without him *realising* it...!

(Taken from the Big Book of Cheesy Plot Devices #17 :D )

Ok - so I'm a bit irritated with myself.....

I used to really like Alien Nation....

And just found out that it's ON itv 4 on Friday nights at 8pm.... Yet another heads up :)

Oh and there is a a fair few other oldie sf series on there so its worth a look - space 1999 :) and some other stuff.

I'm a tad irritated that I missed the first 2 episodes of alien nation tho.

First one looks good, we shall see how things develop?

One annoying thing about many sci fi series is the way the natives of various more highly evolved planets all dress in a very similar fashion/colour! You walk down any High Street and there are a huge variety of styles/colours which is never reflected on the TV. :shrug:

Not SF, but ITV4 are also showing The Water Margin on Saturday evenings at 6pm - excellent series.

Just watched it. Not bad. Could develop quite well.

Hopefully won't get canned after 1 season.

Atm, it doesn't look like they are even going to finish Season 1. The first 13 episodes have been paid for, but the other 9 to make up the first season have not yet been given the go ahead, and it's not looking good. :(

Indeed, I forgot to post that the other day. Also, Stargate is getting a Season 10, and Atlantis a Season 3.

Invasion (which has no uk schedule yet) has been confirmed for it's full 22 episode Season 1. Supernatural is also apparently doing well and should make it to the uk next year.

This is not such good news:

Quote:

Damien Timmer, who has been lined up to executive produce the show for Granada, told Broadcast the new series would take "liberties with the original" and would not retain its arty feel.
The Prisoner was an excellent piece of original TV drama and IMO should be left well alone :(

I can't say I'm surprised. Ok, it's only had a few episodes here, but I wasn't particularly impressed by it.

Lots of running around, "dramatic revelations", threats of "hidden menaces" (hmm, terrorists, anyone?!) but it was always going to be rather limited by its basic premise.
