Terrence Dicks RIP

Sad indeed, he was the script editor for my favorite Doctor Who period (Jon Pertwee era, 1970 -1974).

I've enjoyed all the Doctor Who periods (classic and new), but I think my favourites (of the classic era at least) would have to be Pertwee, Baker and Davison. I've put that in chronological order. I'd be hard pushed to pick a favourite.

That said, whatever Doctor he wrote for, Terrence Dicks was, IMO, one of the best writers for the original series.

In the days before mass availability of VHS tapes, Target novelisations were how I “knew” the doctors I hadn’t been old enough to watch on TV, and Dicks was by far my favourite of the authors.

I don’t care what anyone says, the only way to describe our favourite Time Lord is “that mysterious traveller in time and space known as the Doctor” - and the Tardis’ arrival is marked by a wheezing, groaning sound. :D
