I have then and just have a custom package. It would be cheaper to buy this but I prefer $3 a month .

I have base package, Windflix US with ROBERT and Unlimited

Says $49 for me has it run out or did you get a voucher?

Re: VPN

Which is the best free one & why do people pay for a VPN when they can be had for free?

I was always warned off the free ones as they were said to be dodgy with your data, but ages ago (in an unrelated thread) Pip said that there are actially some good free VPN's out there

Windscribe is not one of the best ones but it works well for US Netflix.

It all depends on what you are using it for. If you really have stuff you want to hide like torrents you want to use a service out of the gaze of the "eyes". Nord for example is based in Panama so I would consider it safer

Pretty much all of them claim to have no logs but I am unsure how much I trust that claim

I use Norton (not free but included with 360 Premium - 10 user version - and you can get that for £25 p.a.) mostly to secure on public networks and using Irish servers to get TuneIn radio to work after most stream were blocked in UK.

Thank you; i'm thinking of getting one.

Would a VPN help to stop this?

I have nothing to hide, but I don't appreciate being snooped on by the Government.

I think the only way to stop things like that is to throw away your phone and PC.

Destroying your Debit/Credit cards would also prevent snooping . . and not just by the Government ;)

or have nothing registered on your phone a proper burner. Shop bought sim top ups bought in cash no banking or a top up credit card you bought anon and top up with cash at paypoint. They would know where you were but not who you were till they nicked ya hehehe

"till they nicked ya hehehe"

I'd imagine that's close to the truth.

If they notice somebody suddenly trying to go 'off grid' and covering their tracks, they'll wonder why and look much much closer at your activities.

Catch 22 :D

I'm looking for a free VPN, is Nord free? Or can anyone recommend a free one? Once installed do they have to be activated in some way? :dozey:

Opera browser has a free VPN, but I have not used it so can't comment about it.

Here's a review https://www.pcmag.com/reviews/opera
