Re: Season 2021/22

Think it's wrong for the media to name players in these situations until proven guilty.

We had this sketch a while back with an unnamed Everton player who was quickly discovered by a process of elimination...

So if i got this right the takeover can go ahead because now it's now Saudi Arabia's investment fund buying the club and not Saudi Arabia?

Allegedly.

But not really. We all know/knew that KSA and their PIF are the same thing. It's a state owned club, its barely a secret. It's gone ahead because Saudi Arabia have been released from potential prosecution regarding piracy. They have paid Bein compensation and restored their programming in the region effective yesterday.

This means the Premier League held a takeover hostage by claiming KSA and PIF are one and the same under the shadow directors clause and disqualifying event. But as soon as Bein were happy. The league feel they're now separate

For reference it was always the PIF that made any bid. Nothing has changed.

I tell you one thing, Journalists are now going to be very careful about writing bad stuff about Newcastle United!

The richest club in world football are currently 19th in the Premier League.

January is going to be very interesting.

Do the Saudis know what the weather is like in Newcastle?? Maybe they'll relocate the ground to Riyadh. As long as its on tv, location doesn't matter. RIP a once great club.

You're assuming they're competent owners. I recall when a Kuwaiti bought us...

About 8 managers in 5 years wasn't it?

Not up to Watford standards though ;)

It helps not to appoint terrible managers to begin with.

Can't say I've disagreed with any of them going, apart from Sean O'Driscoll or Martin O'Neill...

Watford are a special case, but the constant changing doesn't seem to impede their progress.

If by 'the Mighty Iron' you mean the muppets where I am, it's not so much the managers as the owners . . just another lot interfering where they know bugger all about football :D

Luton are doing OK though ;)

Bin Salman has just given Amanda Staveley a bollocking, “I asked you to buy me a New Castle you fool.”:)

Re: Season 2021/22

Newcastle . . that's Brucie gone then, mutual consent, and Graeme Jones as interim manager until . . . 'the price is right' new manager comes along.

That could be a while, so Newcastle fans may face a period of baffling defensive tactics and 85% possession with nothing to show for it.

Will the new manager be one of the 'old guard' that do the managerial merry-go-round, or a well established successful foreign manager attracted by the (probable) lucrative financial package offered?

Re: Season 2021/22

Well that was exciting in the end and I’ll take the win but the first 45 minutes was the worst I have from United in a long time. Bruno Fernandes had his worst game since his last game against the Foxes. :(

Easy game up next.:)
