It is a guilty pleasure of a show and lucky to have survived this long to be fair.
At least they can tie it up nicely.

It's sad when a show ends, but they can't keep going forever. The good thing with 5-0 is that it always has felt like the camera was an observer dropping in on the character's lives, and while it does have ongoing plotlines, you don't need to have deep knowledge of them to enjoy the show. So, I think with good writing (and the writing in the last couple of seasons has been very good), I think they can end it well. It appears that the writers and producers were told a long time ago, because this last season has wrapped up a few ongoing storylines, and a few episodes have felt like they are getting the characters into a good places to end their own individual stories. Still, it lasted 10 years, with 20-24 episodes a year in a landscape where a lot of high budget action TV shows have lasted two or three seasons, sometimes with 10 episodes a season.

kudos to them and it reminds me of the good old days of Buffy, Star Trek and Stargate. 10 years is a good run and I love "full" seasons of 20-24 episodes. With GoT, Expanse and now Picard, it feels like you are just getting into it and then it is over.

Sometimes 24 episodes can be too long though. Lots of pointless filler episodes.

There have been very few of these in 5-0, I cant think of any off-hand.

Just looking at its viewing figures, they have kept pretty steady at around 10 - 11 million for the entire 10 years, not many shows have managed that.

Sometimes. I think a lot of the episodes to do with military service are filler, but they are only a handful out of 240 episodes..

Lucifer is close to a 6th season, the show runners have signed up, its down to whether they can sign Tom Ellis up for it. The feeling is positive, he seems to like his role, and even did the cameo in CW's Crisis arc.

The Magicians has been cancelled by SyFy :(

S.W.A.T has apparently been renewed by CBS.

There is barely anything left on SyFy, with The Magicians, Krypton, Van Helsing & Killjoys all killed off. All that's left is Wynonna Earp.

And who worries about SYFY?

It is a shame that they don't aspire to set the gold standard and want to be the proud home of the best science fiction.

Well considering SYFY cannot even spell the gernre correctly (SciFi/Fan) I fail to see how they could even seek to be "the gold standard and want to be the proud home of the best science fiction".

They are assholes!

You do realise only one show on that list was a SYFY production. All the rest were aquisitions.

I loved Defiance, 12 Monkeys and Continuum; proper quality scifi.
