New to Virgin

Hi

Just a few questions, I have signed up to the 8.50 contract with virgin. I have just signed in to check my text's used and have found that my balance is at £7.50 despite only sending one text. Has anyone else had this problem.

Also the signal on the phone is rubbish, its seems ok outside, but inside it is rubbish. If I put one side of my PC no signal the other side full????

When you log into your account it should tell you how many minutes and texts you have left, are you sure the tariff has been applied to your account? It may take a couple of hours to update itself.

The balance of £7.50 may be a part month charge. As you are on contract that figure is not a running spend balance like it shows for PAYG customers. I guess that after your first bill it will show £8.50 per month unless you spend outside of your tariff allowance.

The signal will vary, as it does on all mobile networks. It obviously depends on many factors including where you are situated in relation to the local transmitter. My indoor signal here with Virgin/T-Mobile is better than Orange or O2. Three is pretty good and I have never used Vodafone so can't comment.

The balance shown is simply the charge for your minutes/texts. The reason it is £7.50 is that (assuming it's a new sim) new sim's come with £1 credit pre-loaded, which reduces your first monthly payment by £1!
