The various synths still on the run, but this time both from Niska and the professor? Just a guess.

It seems to have a good writing team behind it, so I'm confident they'll pull it off.

I'm a massive fan of Orphan Black, and once a season, I've reached a point where I'm wondering how they can continue the story, then something happens and a whole new layer of story is revealed.

Under the dome being cancelled doesn't surprise me really as it's really lost its way in recent episodes. And channel 5 relegating it to a late night slot to me was a indicater that it had lost viewers.

Quote:

While Blindspot was the first series to swing a back nine order, Minority Report is the first series to have its order cut in lieu of a cancellation.

Fox has trimmed the order for the feature film sequel by some three episodes, cutting the size of the first season (and likely series as a whole) to some 10 episodes. The original plan had been for sister studio 20th Century Fox Television to produce 13 episodes of Minority Report.
http://www.tvwise.co.uk/2015/10/fami...-lands-at-cbs/
Quote:

CBS is back in the Kevin James business.

The network has handed out a 13 episode series production commitment to an as-yet untitled family comedy series starring the internationally recognisably comedian. The project brings Kevin James back to the CBS fold after he starred in King Of Queens from 1998 to 2007.

The CBS comedy series, which is expected to air during the 2016 – 2017 broadcast season, stars Kevin James as a newly retired police officer looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids. Before too long, however, des realises that he faces more challenges at home than he ever did on the streets.

Never really got into Defiance myself, although I could see it was well made, it just didn't grab me.

However, there is a increasing unwillingness amongst the networks to give new shows a chance. If they don't become a hit in the first couple of seasons, they are axed.. If that thinking had been applied to (say) Star Trek: The Next Generation, we'd have missed out on what I consider to be some of the best stories written for TV (OK ST:TNG wasn't consistently greate, but it was good and did produce some arguably classic stories.

The US also seems to be going for short seasons. I suspect this is budget related as the budget for a good sci fi show can easily reach into the millions per episode even with the advantage of CGI..

ABC is extending the run of four of their hit comedies. The network has ordered an additional two episodes for The Middle, The Goldbergs, Fresh Off The Boat and Black-ish, TVWise has confirmed. Each of the four series will now produce 24 episodes this season.

All four series are solid performers for ABC. Fresh Off The Boat has been performing well as part of the network’s struggling Tuesday night block and will be anchoring the night in the 8pm time-slot as of midseason. The Middle, The Goldbergs and Black-ish meanwhile are amongst the networks highest rated series, with each hovering around 7 million viewers/2.0 A18-49 rating in live+same day delivery.
