Britains Top Sitcom

Just been watching this and thought I'd have a go at another poll - lets hope it works ...

The Choice was narrowed down to the following 10 - which would you choose ?

Blackadder
Dad's Army
Fawlty Towers
Good Life
One Foot in the Grave
Only Fools & Horses
Open All Hours
Porridge
Vicar of Dibly
Yes [Prime] Minister

My choice out of them is "One foot in the Grave"

Open all hours for me, Ronnie Barker is top. Porridge is a close second.

Re: Britains Top Sitcom

Can't decide between Fawlty Towers and Porridge

Looking at the list it's interesting that they aren't recent programmes, perhaps it was better tv in the "olden days"

Re: Britains Top Sitcom

I'd go for Only fools and horses -every episode a classic and re-watchable endlessly. But how the nthell is Vicar Of Dibley in the final 10 ???? Beyond me !!!!

The (British) sitcoms these days are terrible, hence none got close to the top 10. Mind you - the US ones are just as bad.

Re: Britains Top Sitcom

I like all of them, but I think Blackadder (specially 2) is the best.

yes - I felt a certain sort of despair seeing the vicar of dibley in there

however, I felt a certain sense of solidarity that 'birds of a feather' did not rank anywhere

I'll climb out under my rock here, and admit I've never heard of any of them, much less seen any of them.

Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie was quite hilarious but its not in the list. But my choice goes to Only fools and horses.

Fawlty towers was quite the show, although a tad before my time.

Fawlty Towers
I liked the episode where he thought he poisoned the cat and it was just the cat trying to pass a hair ball
