Why don't you check what Sky are offering? Free broadband now for subscribers with free wireless kits?

Your line rental is included but consider Talk Talk for £20.99 a month.

Yes, you can retain NTL broadband and ditch phone/TV. Just give them a call.

If you're still within your initial 12 months then you have to keep all the services until it's up IIRC.

ive been with them for 7 years now, its just that im sick of watxhing sky sports etc and only getting the basin features and paying more for the privilege, but i do like ntl internet and the phone is jut there because we have to have it with the tv even though we dont actually make any calls off of it.

You can ditch the phone and tv and just have Broadband for £24.99
You wont pay line rental as you wont have a phone line anymore!

What are you waiting for - get Sky TV, you won't regret it - I haven't.

I was (until this time last year) a long time NTL user, Phone, TV and Broadband.

I ditched the TV when they screwed up my Premplus, last year - brings back painful memories.

I kept the Broadband (which is comparatively expensive but reliable), had to keep the phone as I need to keep Sky+ box connected for 1 year min and didn't want to pay for a new BT line.

I haven't looked back - Sky TV is soooo much better than the NTL offering inc. Dolby 5.1 for movies, proper interactive, loads more channels, plus the benfits of Sky+.

As soon as Sky broadband is available in my area, I will switch to that too - up to 16Meg, unlimited for £10 a month - match that NTL, or your position as market leader will be under threat.

That's OK if you're a quantity rather than quality person I suppose.. :erm:

Unless your living ontop of the exchange, you'll be lucky to get half of that. And don't forget that you couldn't have the BB at a tenner a month if you weren't already paying line rental for your phone too - 10-12 a month?

Re: i want to keep ntl internet but get rid of tv

So, Mrs Quantity over Quality - what channels can you get on NTL that are not available on Sky ?

Thought not.

Lucky to get 8Mb instead of 16 Mb - tis a valid point, but 8Mb unlimited for £10 vs 4Mb (sometimes) for £25 - go figure.

Plus I would scrap the NTL line and replace it with a BT line so would be paying the same for line rental.

Hmmmm. I'm afraid to disapoint you, but until NTL can convince me they are better value and I hear reports that their customer service is (ahem) acceptable, they won't see me for dust.

Registered for info and updates with sky on this, there website is not very informative on the service they intend to provide, they are using the same old phone number DB carphone warehouse is using which is very old as these are the only two providers I have seen come up saying my number is not BT but cable. Had to fill in a second form for them to get back to me so lets see what they say.

<SNIP>

That wasn't my point - I'm quality over quantity :dozey: :dunce: I don't care how many dating/shopping/religion channels Sky have that ntl don't. Just because Sky has more channels, it doesn't automatically qualify it to be superior....

Well, it might to you, and that's your prerogative - have fun texting into the 'Babe' channels, do you? :erm:

This is true but the PVR / HD facilities do. Sky's TV is at present better than ntl's and that's a fact. If ntl had better TV they'd be pimping the fact instead of trying to sell based on the whole convergence thing.

Also you don't need to be on top of the exchange to get 16Mbit, as I said before the majority of people connected to an ADSL2+ exchange will see over 10Mbit.

Are you on commission OB? ;) :p:
