Dont see whats controversial myself.

This happened a long time ago, Much worse things have happened since.

The families have often brought it to the attention of the media, so I fail to see whats wrong with this.

I find the subject matter distasteful so i won't watch it. What will ITV come up with next to alienate even more viewers?

I think they courted the media in the hope that there children may one day be found.

How these sorts of programmes get classed as entertainment beats me.As for it being a long time ago it's well within MY living memory and those family members of the victims still alive won't be best pleased to hear the case dismissed in that fashion.

channel 4 have done a show about it to airs later this summer ya even after 40 years doing a Drama about the Moors Murders is risky at best.the nation can't go on acting like it's something that should never be told by tv it's more than time for the likes of itv and channel 4 to be allowed to make tasteful dreamation of the events.

Ok but let's wait until there are no more family members to upset.

I persoanlly find these kind of shows far more 'entertaining' than say Casualty or Dr Who.

Apparently the writer has the support of all the families, so I don't see the problem. Like I say, I have much more interest in real life programmes than I do about a travelling phone box.

Fair enough if they don't mind and they get a chance to object and have anything removed or altered and it not pandering to the worst in people.

I don't think anyone of todays generation can understand just how this affected mine though. You all must remember Soham and know it's effect on your generation.I guess that The Moors Murders was the end of the innocence of the 50's and the beginning of the harder more adult 60's,70's,80's etc.Time seems to have harden us all and there is very little innocence around anymore. So little trust.:(

From what I have read the families wanted this to go out as they want your childrens memory kept alive

Ddint watch it as I cant stand ITV's programming, but it did sound interesting.

and i dont see why not to dramtise it.. but it must be done carefully.

It was written over three years with the full support of the families involved, so I think it was done with every consideration.
