A1GP Season 2005
 
How many people are going to watch the new sport A1GP described as the World Cup of Motorsport. (Won't clash with F1.

It country verses country 1 car per country (upto 3 drivers per country, who but be from that country) all the cars are Identical. The first race is on the 25th Sept at brands Hatch £29.00 per ticket.

Countries so far taking part: (up to 29 countries)
Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Great Britian, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Libia, Masedonia, Mexico, Holland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Portugal, South Africa, Russia, Switzerland, USA.

First i've heard of it, but it seems to the solution as to how I think F1 should be, so i'll definitely watch it. Wether it becomes interesting or just another glorified, televised parade, time will tell. Definitely sounds brilliant though.

I don't know which channel will be showing it, I think its Sky Sports (hopefully BBC, and NOT ITV)

I think it is a good idea, it will really tell who is the fastest driver and not the fastest car.

Apparently the engine is a seal unit no mods aloud, but they can change tyre pressure, areodynamics.

The first race of the A1GP season starts this weekend at Brands Hatch.

Full qualifing starts tomorrow on Sky Sprts 3 2:00-4:30pm
Races Sunday Sky Sports 1 1:00 - 5:00PM

Sounds very good, so i'll be watching, see how it goes.

I would like them to handcap cars with lighter drivers, so every car, with driver are of equal weight. Otherwise, you'll get the same thing happening here as with horse racing, where they just try and find smaller lighter midgets for riders, instead of better riders.

Ahh well, see how it goes.

So that's another event I'm going to miss along with the Test Matches next year because someone's spent a lot of money to sell it to us :mad:
