What has the north done

So Brits on the virus riddled cruise ship are going to be sent to a hospital in the north of England. Revenge perhaps

Arrowe Park Hospital on the Wirral, Merseyside, was notably used as the UK's quarantine site at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A pandemic has to start somewhere, and where better than an area where a good number would ignore health advice if the virus got loose?

I'd send them to Clacton.

Apparently the virus is not of the Pandemic type. Who knows?

Its not the same at all.

Hantavirus is not easily transmitted between humans; it is primarily acquired through direct contact with infected rodent waste, making infection rare. Transmission occurs when aerosolized particles from rodent saliva, urine, or droppings are inhaled, typically during cleaning of poorly ventilated, infested areas.

Could always mutate with something and turn into something totally new because it could no matter how remote a possibility . None of us know what nature has instore for the human race

Like a rat infested cruise ship, perhaps?

Re: What has the north done

Arrowe Park has a decent isolation floor - I’ve spent a week on it, with encephalitis, when I was 10. Mind you, IIRC they used the nurses accommodation during covid, which is in a self contained building right next to the main hospital. The hospital is outside Birkenhead, with parkland on three sides and is set well back from the main road which only has a residential area on the far side. It’s also got good transport links to every part of the UK and is handy for airports at Liverpool and Manchester. So it’s a decent strategic location which was probably named in a Home Office disaster plan years ago, and would likely have a local plan for converting space for pandemic use, which would be why it’s getting used again.

(Edit) not to be super-grim about it but it is also about 500 yards from a massive municipal crematorium (Landican) which has two modern incinerators sitting underneath three chapels, and can ‘process’ two dead people per hour. So if it all kicked off …

So sad you trust what the governments tell us, if they were asked l bet they would say it's all in hand and not a problem , until it isn't. Or perhaps you feel that our government speaks the truth unlike every other one. Me I "own" a salt mine:cool: just heard Sir Keir say he is going be PM for the next 10 years

Don't we all live within 20ft of a rat, or something like that?

edit: Maybe that's just London ;)
