Why? I can remember using IE5 when I was at uni and that was 20 years ago.

I doubt he's interested in joining the 'modern computer world' and all the expense and issues that come with it.

He probably has no interest in playing the latest games . . or many earlier (now unplayable) games either. Probably doesn't do photo or video editing, has no need for a 12 core CPU, 64Gig of RAM, or a super fast GFX unit that accurately displays the panic on the face of a Norwegian Blue falling off it's perch (in real time or ultra slo-mo).

He seems ok just browsing the internet (one tab at a time), playing his flash games, sending the occasional email, and taking part in forum discussions.

Having said that, possibly $50 spent on the right second hand components (if they are still around) may improve a couple of things ;)

I guess you hate with a passion the latest Firefox? How could the designers come up with that monstrosity of a theme and actually think it to be OK? lol

Is the title for the threat right? It looks like showing how you pay for your browser/browsing or whatever?

Here are two screenshots from my current browser of choice which is Brave.

First one is with the dark mode extension enabled, which I tend to have everything set to on my computers.

Second is with dark mode off.
