 Sky fibre question

		Hi all
I currently have Sky broadband as a backup to my main VM broadband. I'm debating if it's worth keeping Sky as I only get around 4.5 mbps on a good day which is about as good as I could expect with the distance from the exchange. I did consider Sky fibre but would it significantly improve my speeds based on my current adsl predicted maximum download speed of 4-4.5 mbps . Cheers. |

 Re: Sky fibre question

With Sky fibre distance from the exchange is immaterial. It is distance from the cabinet that's important.
To get a rough idea enter your address here. https://www.btwholesale.com/includes...ls_adslchecker Don't enter your phone number as you are with Sky so it won't return a result. |

Well i just used it. Didn't recognise my number (presumably as i moved from BT > O2 > Sky), so I used the less accurate post code checker and it just produced the bog standard ADSL speed info ...2.5-6.0 |

---------- Post added at 20:04 ---------- Previous post was at 19:41 ---------- I notice that at the end of last year they were guaranteeing 55 mbps or your money back...sounds a bit optimistic but i'd bite their hands off for half that speed. |

 Re: Sky fibre question

What are the VDSL speeds? They are what you can expect from Sky depending on the packages they sell.

is VDSL actually fibre ? |

 Re: Sky fibre question

VDSL is FTTC and is sold as a fibre product.
Why don't you just post a screenshot of the result you get. I can then tell you what to expect. Remove your address before posting. |

You must be a long way from your cabinet. FTTC is not for you. Forget about Sky fibre for now.

I have the lower of the fibre options and get 30M down, 4.5M up, on it. |
