He'll be the first to complain when he gets knocked over by a bus.
But hey, cycle lanes are there for amateurs, proper Lycra-clad goons may spurn them at will. |
re: Police officer in bizarre row with cyclist for not using superhighway
What we all need to appreciate is that the Lycra clad road police are a far superior breed and as such require no training. The rules of the road and cycle lanes are there only for the rest of us mere mortals who can never aspire to the perfect judgment and exemplary behaviour our colourful heroes exhibit every day whilst suffering the rest of us clogging up the place. I don't know why Boris didn't create elite cycle lanes for our colourful superheroes to race along in, that way they'd be better able to show us just superior they are...

re: Police officer in bizarre row with cyclist for not using superhighway
First we all walked in the same road until someone invented pavements to separate foot and other forms of transport. Fewer accidents between pedestrians and road traffic ensued.
Except for those, on both sides, who ignored the role of the pavement. Anyone driving or riding on the pavement could be prosecuted, but cyclists seemed immune. Then someone invented cycle lanes to separate the flow further. Fewer accidents ensued. Except for those, on all 3 sides, who ignored the role of the 3 different lanes. Whilst drivers could still be prosecuted for driving on the pavement or cycle lane, cyclists seemed immune. More prosecution of cyclists might solve the problem. |

Chaos rains here in Leeds, new cycle lane between Leeds and Bradord in the process of completion @£30million!
2lane carriageway reduced to 1, no where to go to let emergency vehicles past. |
re: Police officer in bizarre row with cyclist for not using superhighway
Heh labour spent loads of money putting in cycle lanes all over the countery, even ones only a few metres long, only for todays cyclists to stick up two fingers and proclaim 'I can ride where I like' and then proceed to pee off everyone by riding in the middle of the road 'because they can'
It is high time something was done, no other user of the road or pavement gets to take the urine quite like they do, I'd suggest for those over 16 to have to pas some sort of proficiency test that allows them to get 3rd party insurance and.... #Gives up because there's no way in hell the Country has the will or ability to do anything, so gives up but considers Boudicca type blades on car wheels# Still think as a nation we should be able to do something, how do other Countries manage? |
