Atheist kills three muslims. Dawkins condemns his actions.

They're all at it now.

"Prominent atheist Richard Dawkins has condemned the attack"

"The man arrested on suspicion of killing three young Muslims in North Carolina described himself as an “anti-theist” and criticised all religions online.

Police said 46-year-old Craig Stephen Hicks handed himself in to officers in Chapel Hill overnight in the wake of the deaths of 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, his wife Yusor Mohammad, 21, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19.

He has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree murder."

Independent.

We wake up now wondering what religious happenings are in the news today.

and go to bed wondering what religious happenings will there be tomorrow.

we need to make some pills that will erase religion from our brains.

Worth mentioning that he does seem to have been motivated by his 'anti-theism':

Quote:

So do we need to organise a atheist march to say "Not in our name?" because frankly I am not sure I can be bothered. I suspect Dawkins might be having a passive aggressive jab by introducing the idea that his 'condemnation' is required as a fellow atheist.

Initially few further details were known about the case. In a statement on Wednesday, Chapel Hill Police said an ongoing parking dispute apparently led to the shooting, a theory which has been rejected by the father of the Abu-Salha sisters. Dr. Mohammad Abu-Salha is reported to have said the incident was not parking related and described it as a "hate crime"
If it was white non-Muslims would we have heard about it?

Agreed Papa.

Dawkins is taking some quite vitriolic abuse over on Twitter.

Really? There are enough cases just in this country that mysteriously are "missing".

Abed A. Ayoub, the legal and policy director of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee appears to have started a twitter campaign to get the story into the headlines.

Probably because had it been a Muslim it would have been in the headlines.

Did anyone hear about this one, for example?
Quote:

Five men have been convicted of murdering a Polish father of three who died after being hit with a hammer and kicked in a Derby street.
Police said they still did not know why the men from Derby attacked Serioza Lawskoski, 29, in Normanton last April.
Imran Rashid, 29, of Madeley Street, Raja Jeelani, 26, of Depot Street, Robuel Islam, 25, of Loudon Street, and brothers Usman and Rizwan Ahmed, 19 and 23, were found guilty after a trial.
...
In the same nine-week trial, Rashid and Jeelani were also convicted of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm against 20-year-old Renato Blackwood, who was assaulted in St Mary's Wharf Road, Derby, on 1 January 2011. Kicked several times
Nottingham Crown Court heard Mr Lawskoski, from Leacroft Road, Pear Tree, Derby, was confronted by the gang shortly after leaving a friend's house in Cummings Street on the evening of 23 April.
...
The attack was unprovoked and Mr Lawskoski did not know the men. Prosecutors said he was asked "what are you looking at?" before being hit with a hammer and then kicked in the head several times as he lay on the ground.

What, the one that was reported on the Sky, BBC, and ITV websites, and in the Independent, Mirror, and Guardian??

Conversely, I don't remember this being widely discussed/reported last month, whilst the recent story about the Muslim teenager who was threatening to kill a soldier has been front page news this month.

A man armed with a machete and a hammer shouted “white power” as he launched a savage attack on an Asian shopper who was buying his lunch in a supermarket in North Wales, according to witnesses.

Had you heard about it? How many of the reports were national, ie not local, and/or listed the perpetrators? My point still stands and there are other examples that I know of, and certainly many more that I'm not.
