Ferguson shooting: Darren Wilson quits police force

American police officer, who shot black male has resigned.

This in view is totally wrong, and giving into mob rule. The cop was doing his job. Why don't we just get rid of police officers, and let mobs control countries.

Resigning was, he said, the "hardest thing" he had ever had to do
I would have thought killing someone, no matter what the circumstances, might have rated a bit higher than leaving your job.....

I don't think it's giving into mob rule as he is doing this of his own decision. But to be honest this is totally understandable, if he continued working he would be putting himself and the people around him at higher risk.

It could also help restore the faith in the police, but I doubt it.

Can you imagine the response to any incident he was called to?

I dare say all those who showed their support for the family of the young victim by looting shops would be delighted if more police officers decided to resign.

mob rule ? or just outraged public - this is the policeman who shot an unarmed man 8 times is it not ?

Not sure if the looting was in support of the bereaved family - much like the looting in London a couple of years ago wasn't really in support of the family of the person shot by the Met....

A very simplistic way of describing the events

Mr Brown's supporters said the teenager was attempting to surrender when he was shot. Some witnesses said the 18-year-old, who was unarmed, had his hands up.

lets hope he never bumps into hulk hogan .

And equally as many other witnesses say Mr Brown was trying to wrestle officer Wilsons gun away from him

I think the problem is that the community there don't trust the police. I haven't been following the case that closely, I know it's quite rare for a Grand Jury not to indite, but I suspect the problem is a lot more than just Mike Brown.

Witnesses also said he was running away at the time, but all the shots were in his front. Those witnesses must have been lying. How many others did as well?

No ,other witnesses supported the officer and the physical evidence contradicted statements of some of Browns supporters

Quote:

The evidence from witnesses was often contradictory. Some of it supported Officer Wilson's version of events. Other witness statements appeared to support the account of Dorian Johnson, Mr Brown's friend who was with him when he died.

The state prosecutor said physical evidence had contradicted some of the witness statements.
