bt openreach engineers

Just been for interview at Midland ate building in Birmingham for an interview for one of the 1600 engineers they will be taking on although I thought the interview its self went fine but a little nervous, when asked at the end of the interview if I had any questions my mind went blank. But now I have lots of questions I wish I'd of asked. I.e do engineers get payed monthly or weekly, payed hourly or price work and how much and the base salary is it 17000 or 19000 also how much overtime is usual allowed or expected. So if there are any current openreach or ex openreach engineers who could shed some light on this it would be a big help. Thanks:)

You probably just got one more wrong than the other guy who got an interview. To be fair that test was so hard it was a bit of luck needed. I've never done a test like it

Yup, answered all 15 too. There was only one guess question so unlucky me! Whereas a friend answered 12 and has got an interview so I assume percentage rate kicked in.

Got offered an interview, but then told I can't go any further as I took a leaver package Sevaral years ago; ive checked and there are no laws to say you can't be reemployed. It's jjust another example of bt red tape

Yeah out of the 15 questions I also thought there was only one I had to guess. About 3 weeks after the interview they rang me offered me a position which I accepted then emailed me a contract and a start date and info about how much training will be needed. Had an email asking for a photo for id pass and that's all I know as of yet haven't heard anything else and it is,now a month till start date and need to put notice in at current job also they told me job offer is conditional pending reference checks and passport checks so feel a little like I'm in limbo at the moment. but think it may be something to do with alphabetical order and last name beginning with w.

Also there was two jobs on offer got offered the 19000 one as overhead engineer. I wonder what the 17000 basic role was doing??

MI is managed install. Basically some internal wiring, plugging in modems and cab work. Thats it. Nice and easy.

Hey all, I applied for the Openreach service delivery engineers apprenticeship in scotland back in september. Heard back last month and had an interview last wednesday. The interview only consisted of 4 of us completing an aptitude test then a sole interview each. The interviewer spoke to me for about 15minutes about each others lifes learnt about his children also went all over my life.. when it came to the questions he practically answered them for me and I simply had to top up the answers with my own words really. anything I said he made sound 3x better..! Was very strange to say the least.

But my main question is the salary I believe starts on 13500, that is a lot lower than the 18000 I am currently on. I wanted to know if anyone here thinks that it is worthwhile taken the drop in salary for a number of years to do this? And if overall it is definitely worth it.? I currently work for a bank and my salary is 18000.

Help please just incase They come back and offer it..!
