LG "American Style" Fridge Freezer issue
I have just acquired, for free (my favourite price!) A second-hand LG American Style Side-By-Side Fridge Freezer, it's a few years old but works perfectly.
I would like to get the kit to plumb it into the mains for Chilled, Filtered Water on Tap and the Ice-Cube maker but since it has been moved a few times the hose connector between the Freezer-Door (which is supposed to be removable so you can take the doors off) has gotten brittle and broken so I now have the two hose ends and I would like very much to get them reconnected. Does anyone know where I might find a suitable connector/joiner? The inside diameter of the pipe is quite small, probably 3-5mm, could get an accurate measure if required, has anyone ever done anything like this, and what did you use? Need to get this reconnected before I even think about the mains hookup! Ta :) |

Re: LG "American Style" Fridge Freezer issue
Not sure I've understood your problem totally but if I have, how about using something like the plastic tube from one of those trigger spray bottles. I often keep the tubes from those for joining things like my small bore garden irrigation system - not that Ive used it much for the last few 'summers'.
These tubes come in various diameters and if you could find one which slips nicely inside the fridge hoses you should be able to glue it in place using a waterproof superglue. I've done this successfully in the garden using a mains pressure water supply with no leaks. |

Yeah I had been down that road it's not the mains water connection kit I'm after as they can be found in loads of places, but rather a replacement kit to re-join the door tube to the main fridge supply, erm perhaps a photo would be in order, but I'll have to take the kick plate back off etc, perhaps later or tomorrow unless anyone comes up with anything before, but thanks Z :)

Re: LG "American Style" Fridge Freezer issue
Most likely the tube is 1/4inch outside dia (6.4mm), I have done similar repairs to tubing like this.
Like link from Osem, smaller piece inside existing tube and then glued into place. B&Q does a range of 'pressure' tubing down to about 1/8inch OD (3mm), take a short piece of original tube with you as a sample. |

Hi I'm new so I'm sorry if I've done this wrong:erm: I have an lg plumbed and the ice maker has stopped, it has done this before and I used the reset button but now it's not having it, and today came home to water coming out from underneath. Has anyone else had this and did they fix it?

Switch off the water supply to the fridge and if you're not competent to investigate it yourself, you will have to call someone in to trace and repair the leak. If you post the model number of the fridge in here, then maybe someone who has one might be able to tell you how to go about spotting where the leak might be, before you call someone in. |

Re: LG "American Style" Fridge Freezer issue
On mine at least there is a hose that comes from where the water goes in in the back that runs behind the front kickplate at the bottom and there is a join in the hose, it is possible this has come apart/
