Depends on cause of death. If he died of heart failure then no but that will all remain to be seen

Doubtful. Wearing a gas mask, in his 50's and (assuming here from the usual older robber background) in poor health getting pinned to the ground by a bunch of people would probably bring on a heart attack or some form of positional asphyxia.

Unless the CCTV, which is usually excellent in bookies, shows anything untoward it's just one very poor decision by the robber.

It's probably better it happened in civilian hands than police hands because you can bet your bottom dollar that some poor copper would get hung out to dry if the robber had died when the police pinned him to the ground

It's still being investigated by the IPCC as a death after Police 'contact' and will be used as a stat by those who go after the Police for there being so many deaths after Police contact and no convictions.

Levers was jailed for four years in 2010 for robbery with an imitation firearm at Costcutter, Mutley Plain, Plymouth.

He said: "He was a generous guy who would give you his last 50p if he had it.
Yep cause if he gave away the last 50p he'd just knock over a shop or bookies and get some more money.

Just think. If he had actually served the 4 years he was sentenced to he would still be alive right now.
