Area Upgraded?
Very strange issue, I'm sold that this area has been upgraded, but my modem still has the 50Mbit profile.
One of the TS people on the forum said that I needed to call CS and get them to action the change on my service. I called yesterday and was told that there were no customer service agents working on that day and that I need to call back today. I called back today, several times infact. The first person told me that they couldn't help me. The second person told me that I needed to wait another month. The third person told me that My area had been done, if I wanted to update it, I need to get a technicians visit to install a superhub, (currently on vm300) it is subject to a 12 month contract and that once actioned will take 10 days to work. Apparently to do with training on the line (It's not bloody ADSL). Is this happening to other people, or are their upgrades automatic? (as the website suggests). |
Re: Area Upgraded?
You don't need a SH for 100mb, the VMNG300 is fine.
As for the upgrade, it will happen at some stage, it might just take a day or two for the config files to be pushed out to everyone in the area? As I was already at 100, (and using a VMNG300) the only difference in my case was 2 Upstream channels appeared instead of one. |
Re: Area Upgraded?
You were told a load of gollox. My upgrade from 50 to 100 just happened. The Tivo glitched and lo I was on 100 meg.
No training, no change of contract, no 10 days to work. A load of gollox. |
Re: Area Upgraded?
I've had 2 US channels for well over a week now, (maybe 2).
I had the feeling that I was told a load of rubbish. I miss the days where you could make a usenet posting and get someone helpful who knew what was going on to take care of any problems. |

Sure did you check the modem stats?under operation configuration with my modem mode http://192.168.100.1/VmRouterStatus_configuration.asp |
Re: Area Upgraded?
Yup.
It looks like they've done something, oddly my profile is 100/5 now. |
Re: Area Upgraded?
I rebooted my modem this morning and I'm still on 50. Hoping that'll have changed when I get home!

Re: Area Upgraded?
i know it is funny but the joke is that it is true. It is pathetic that you can't ring up and get a problem sorted. If they arent sticking to the rollout schedule for whatever reason then customer services should be able to give you a decent answer as to what is going on. I have seen several posts over the last couple of weeks of users ringing up and them being told "in order to receive the upgrade you will a shub". It makes me so angry. All you get is ****ed off customers because you wait for a shub to arrive, still get the same speed and end up ringing them back again. I don't care whether it is UK or India, that kind of customer service = FAIL!

Re: Area Upgraded?
The boltometer now tells me that I should have 120mb.
Rang up VM this evening to be told to wait upto 1 month for completion of the upgrade. |
Re: Area Upgraded?
I think I should send VM a letter saying I've paid my bill, but not actually pay it. When they complain, I'll tell them I'm using the same tactics they use and will happily pay them in a months time.

Re: Area Upgraded?
If only... Shame most contracts are stacked against consumers in that way.

Re: Area Upgraded?
Had 2 US for nearly a month now but still no upgrade to 120/12, not sure if there's more work to be done before the new configs are sent down

Pssst - if you're one of our up to 100Mb customers, your up to 120Mb broadband upgrade is coming soon. We estimate your area will be ready between April 2013 and June 2013. Not sure what package you're on? Then log in to My Virgin Media or check your bill. Moved from October last year , oh joy !! |
